Frequently asked questions
What the Stayed app is, how it works, and what happens to your data. If your question isn’t here, email us and we’ll answer it.
What is the Stayed app?
A record of the hotel stays you have taken and the loyalty programmes they feed, kept on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud. It recognises 140 hotel brands and 17 soft-brand collections from the hotel’s name, and tracks 33 loyalty programmes in the wallet. Those are different jobs, so the numbers are different. It is a record you keep, not a booking site.
How do stays get in?
Eight ways. Fill in the form, paste a confirmation, import a .pdf, .txt, .html, .eml or .ics file, or send one in from Mail with the share sheet. Sharing works on a file, so a PDF open in Safari goes in and a web page does not. With Stayed Pro you can also forward confirmations to your own address at in.stayed.info, connect Google Calendar, scan Apple Calendar on your device, or bring years of history in from a CSV. Whichever way it arrives, you see a draft and confirm it before anything is kept. There is more in adding a stay.
Does it work with the site I booked through?
It recognises Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Agoda, Airbnb, Vrbo, Trip.com, HRS and Hostelworld by name, plus twelve hotel chains. Anything else you can paste or import. Because most bookings made through those sites earn no programme credit, the Stayed app switches earning off for them by default. If your rate is an exception, switch it back on.
What happens when my points are about to expire?
The Stayed app works the expiry date out from your last activity and your programme’s window, which runs from twelve months at IHG and Accor to twenty-four at Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt. You get a notification 90 days before and another 30 days before, at 10:00 your local time. Free-night certificates and suite upgrades get a 30-day notice of their own. All of this comes with your free programme.
What data can I take with me?
Export to JSON or CSV from Settings, whenever you want, with no upgrade and no request form. The file is a deliberate subset, and it’s worth knowing what it holds. Dates, property names, nights, programmes and the numbers behind your passport come out. Addresses, coordinates, contact details, ratings and the original document don’t.
What is free and what is paid?
Free gives you unlimited stays, the passport, the globe, the stamps, the milestones, the widget, export, unlimited reading on the phone itself plus five cloud reads a month, and one loyalty programme: balances, tiers, projections, certificates and expiry warnings. Stayed Pro reads every confirmation with no monthly cap, tracks every programme you carry, and adds points estimates, email and calendar sync, CSV import, photo matching and the concierge. If a subscription lapses, nothing is hidden and nothing is deleted. Billing and refunds are handled by Apple.
Do I have to type everything in myself?
No. The Stayed app reads your confirmation and prefills the dates, hotel, room and rate. You check it looks right and confirm. Nothing is added without you saying yes.
Is my data private?
Most of your information stays on your device, and in your own private iCloud if your iPhone is signed in to iCloud. There is no sync switch to find: it follows your Apple account. The app has no ads and no third-party trackers. There’s one optional switch in Settings, off until you turn it on, that sends us a note of which features get used and what goes wrong: never your stays, hotels, dates or anything you typed. The privacy policy sets out exactly what leaves your device and where it goes.
What happens to the emails I forward?
They are read to pull out your booking, then handled as the privacy policy describes. Forward selectively, ideally with a filter, so you only send the Stayed app the confirmations it needs.
Does the Stayed app use AI, and can I trust what it tells me?
Your phone tries to read a confirmation on its own first. When it can’t, the app asks you before sending the text to a cloud model, and never sends it without asking. AI also writes the area guide and the concierge answers. Treat anything it tells you as a helpful starting point, not a guarantee, and check anything that costs you money, like a cancellation deadline, with the hotel directly.
Is the Stayed app affiliated with any hotel or loyalty programme?
No. The Stayed app is independent. Hotel and programme names and logos appear only so you can recognise your own bookings and memberships. All trade marks belong to their owners. There is more in our terms of use.
Where do I get it, and is there an Android version?
The Stayed app is out now on the App Store, free to download, on iPhone running iOS 26 or later. It is iOS first, with no Android version yet.
How do I get in touch?
Email hello@stayed.info. That’s also where to report a hotel detail that looks wrong.
Still stuck? Email hello@stayed.infoand we’ll get back to you.
